Riley Hutchison Brings Her Passion for Higher Education to the Jenkins MBA Program

Riley Hutchison has joined the Poole College of Management as the new assistant director of admissions for the Jenkins MBA Program.

Hutchison found her passion for higher education as an undergraduate student at Appalachian State University working as a student ambassador. This led her down the path of admissions where, after graduation, she was hired as the assistant director of admissions for the college. In this role, she managed 14 out-of-state territories and 30 North Carolina counties.

As the assistant director of admissions for the Jenkins MBA Program, Hutchison will be responsible for working collaboratively with the admissions team to find the highest quality MBA candidates for the evening and online platforms. Additionally, she will participate in the selection process for various Jenkins MBA programs as well as working with the admissions ambassadors program.

“I wanted to join the Poole College of Management because I saw a college where students have phenomenal opportunities, faculty who are dedicated and involved, and a place where you can gain the skills that you need to be successful in your career,” said Hutchison. “Looking at the MBA program, I was so impressed with the level of flexibility for students, quality of online and evening programs, and the dedicated faculty.”

Hutchison received a bachelor of arts in languages, literature and culture with a concentration in Spanish, as well as a bachelor of science in electronic media and broadcasting from Appalachian State University in 2017. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in higher education online through Appalachian State University.

Outside of work, Hutchison enjoys spending time outdoors especially hiking, snowboarding and playing softball. She also loves college football and spending time with her friends and family.

“Riley Hutchison has joined the MBA team to better serve our prospective students and applicants in the working professional population,” said Jen Arthur, director of admissions for the Jenkins MBA Program. “She will work with the MBA program’s growing evening and online population to guide them through the application process and prepare them to be successful MBA candidates.”
