Jon Carr Discusses Success of NC State Entrepreneurship During WRAL’s On the Record

Jon Carr, Jenkins distinguished professor of entrepreneurship, was featured on WRAL during the “On the Record” segment to discuss the growth and success of entrepreneurship at NC State. NC State entrepreneurship start-ups have generated $1.2 billion in added income to the state economy and, currently, there are 31 start-up companies housed in the new NC State Entrepreneurship Garage that have a combined $75 million in venture capital investments. Carr said the reason behind the success is the support from leadership in the Poole College of Management and the university as a whole to grow with students as they begin their entrepreneurial careers. “Our goal is to try to pull students from the classroom and put them out there in the entrepreneurial ecosystem in a way that makes sense for them,” said Carr.
