Poole Lecturer Cheatham Makes Business Journal’s National Influencer List

Poole College of Management Adjunct Lecturer Demetris Cheatham has been selected to a national list of influential executives called The Business Journals’ Influencers: Rising Stars.

Rising Stars “spotlights 100 executives across the country who are having an impact early in their careers on business being done in cities across the nation,” according to the Triangle Business Journal

The list was created by writers and editors from The Business Journal’s 40 publications, including the Triangle Business Journal, and it significantly relied on the more than 1,000 40-Under-40 Leadership Award productions that profiled executives locally for the last year.

Cheatham, who is the global diversity and inclusion lead at Red Hat, was one of three Triangle executives named to the list, corresponding with the 40-Under-40 award she received in June.

As an adjunct lecturer in the management, innovation, and entrepreneurship department, she teaches MIE 310: Introduction to Entrepreneurship, which immerses students in the planning, formation and management of entrepreneurial ventures and facilitates their understanding of value creation through experiential learning.

Cheatham’s honors (and the course she teaches) underscore the department and the college’s dedication to incorporating the strategic and hands-on skills of contemporary leadership, innovation and analysis that help build successful businesses and communities locally and globally.
