Work at Poole College

What is the most common question you receive at work?

Many people ask what goes into a video shoot, and they often don’t realize how much goes on behind the camera. For a basic interview shoot, I have two cameras on tripods (one wide and one close up shot), between one and three LED lights, and either a boom or lavalier microphone connected to an audio recorder to capture sound. On top of that, I’m usually the one conducting the interview as well!

What do you see as the greatest strengths of Poole College?

The college’s ability to prepare and place students in the local workforce through opportunities and partnerships.

What advice would you give a staff member who has recently joined Poole College?

Get to know as many of the staff and faculty as you can, they’re great resources and enjoyable to be around!

Professional Accomplishments

What project that you completed at Poole you are most proud of?

I am most proud of the 2019 commencement student features videos.

Life Outside of Poole

When you are not at Poole College, what do you enjoy doing for fun?

I love to shoot video wherever I am. You can view all of my work at jacobmdiehl.com. When it’s warm enough, I really enjoy disc golfing. There’s a course on Centennial Campus as well as five minutes from main campus on Kaplan Drive, but I also like to try other courses all over the Triangle.
