Poole College of Management’s team of five students received an honorable mention at the Deloitte FanTAXtic National Competition on January 15. The team comprised of Eli Miller, Patrick O’Keefe, Hailey Amass, May Guo and Olivia Wilson competed against 42 other students from nine universities across the country.

The team from Poole College demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively to solve a complex reality-based business case simulation and was also recognized for the quality of their overall presentation completed virtually to a panel of Deloitte tax leaders serving as judges.

“The national event is usually at Deloitte University in Dallas but given the pandemic it was held utilizing Zoom and it was really well done,” said Jennifer Dirienzo, professor of practice and faculty advisor for the team. “Our NC State team did an outstanding job and received an honorable mention for their work. I was very proud of them and believe they did a fantastic job representing our university.”

At the end of competition, the Poole College team received an honorable mention, $2,000 award to NC State and $250 scholarships for each member.
