NC State AMA Chapter Ranks in the Top 5 Percent Internationally

During spring break, fourteen members of the NC State’s AMA chapter traveled to Chicago, Illinois to attend the American Marketing Association’s 2022 International Collegiate Conference, “Rise Together,” held March 11-19 with both in-person and virtual formats.

The NC State AMA was joined by 1,000 collegiate members at the annual conference where they attended workshops, listened to presentations by experienced marketing professionals, and participated in competitions with their peers. Among top competitors were two NC State students, Brandon Romeo, who placed third place in the Perfect Pitch competition with CH Robinson and second place for the Sales competition with Sherwin Williams, and Adarsh Arun, who earned first place in the virtual Perfect Pitch competition with Riddle & Bloom and was a finalist for the Perfect Pitch competition with CH Robinson.

Ranking No. 13 out of over 300 chapters internationally, the chapter earned the highest ranking that NC State has ever achieved. This impressive ranking is based on several attributes: chapter membership, chapter plan, professional development, chapter operations, social outreach and communications. The chapter’s faculty advisor, Tom Byrnes, was proud of the members’ hard work and preparation for the conference.

“I am so proud of this elite group of AMA marketing students who worked so hard this year to further their marketing skills and provide significant value to all of the AMA NC State members,” said Byrnes. “They are excellent role models, and I am thrilled to be able to work with them!”
