Poole College Announces Archana Jayasekar as Spring Student Commencement Speaker

NC State Poole College of Management has named Archana Jayasekar as the student commencement speaker for the spring 2023 ceremony. Jayasekar will be graduating with a bachelor of science in business administration with a concentration in finance and a minor in statistics. She is also a member of the Business Analytics Honors Program.

“It is a genuine honor to be selected as the Poole student commencement speaker,” said Jayasekar. “It means the world to me, and I am looking forward to giving back to the college that provided me with so much.”

The Charlotte, North Carolina, native is currently the senior class representative on Poole Council, after having previously served as the sophomore and junior class representatives; president of Intercollegiate DECA, after previously serving as vice president of finance and head vice president of the organization; and has served on the executive board of Alpha Phi Omega national co-ed service fraternity. During her time at NC State, Jayasekar has completed over 100 hours of community service. 

“Being able to help organize the Poole Party and contribute during countless president roundtable meetings to engage different club leaders has really helped enrich my leadership experience in Poole over the last four years,” said Jayasekar.

Jayasekar has held various internship positions during her academic career including being a hub and gateway operations strategy intern at American Airlines and a corporate & investment banking risk intern in the Diversified Financial Services and Subscription Finance team at Wells Fargo. Both of these internships were in Charlotte.

“My favorite Poole memories include planning Wellness Week events to help students prioritize their mental health and meeting prospective students at the open houses,” said Jayasekar. “It’s a great way to reignite your passion for the Poole community and help students get the resources they need to succeed.” 

Following graduation, Jayasekar will head to New York to work at J.P. Morgan Chase as a corporate & investment banking risk analyst.
