Poole College’s Ram Janakiraman Receives New Distinguished Professorship

Poole College of Management professor Ram Janakiraman has been honored with a distinguished professorship. He is the first ever R. Randall Rollins Distinguished Professor.

Distinguished professorships acknowledge Poole faculty who are among the top scholars in their fields. They are created using generous gifts from supporters of the college and include matching state funds. The funding is used to support research activities. There are 15 Distinguished Professors at Poole, including Stephen P. Zelnak Jr. Dean Frank Buckless.

Janakiraman joined Poole College in 2024 and is a professor of marketing analytics.

“I am honored to serve as the inaugural holder of the R. Randall Rollins Distinguished Professorship and be listed among other distinguished professors at NC State,” he said. “I am grateful to the Kreisler family for their generous funding of this professorship. The award offers me time and resources to work on high-impact research projects and develop new courses in the areas of analytics for NC State students.”
