What\u2019s less typical is the amount of trading on prediction markets, the new platforms that let users wager on almost anything. As debate continues around the markets, and as legislation and legal cases work their way through their respective systems, bettors weigh the pros and cons of using traditional sportsbooks or prediction markets.<br><br>Bloomberg published an article explaining that prediction market wagers might have tax advantages over sportsbooks. Since wagers on prediction markets are functionally event contracts, there\u2019s a possibility for high loss deductions and\/or less tax on winnings.
