Fall First-Year Students

Welcome Poole College of Management Class of 2026 Students!

We are thrilled that you are coming to NC State and joining our Poole community.

Our first goal in the Poole College of Management is to facilitate a smooth transition for you as a new student including course registration advising. As a new Poole student you will have access to a team of professional, full-time  advisors who will help guide you during your time in Poole. All NC State First-Year students will register for courses in June and seats are held in courses specifically to accommodate first-year students.

General Timeline

May 12: You will receive an email from the Poole Advising Team at poole_advising@ncsu.edu with information about the registration process.

May 12- May 31: Prepare to Register (Complete WolfWare requirements)

  • Items that are included in the New Student Checklist that are especially important for advising and registration purposes include:
  • Register for Orientation: Access your unity account and NC State email.
  • Your NC State email address is the email that we will use to contact you and your unity id will be needed for many things.

2. Take your Placement Tests

  • Math Placement Test: Poole College of Management students are highly encouraged to take the Math Placement Test.
  • Chemistry Placement Test: Poole College of Management students are required to take at least 7 hours of Natural Science to complete their degree but students are able to select from many science courses.

Therefore, Poole College of Management students DO NOT need to take the Chemistry Placement Exam unless they would like to take Chemistry.
