Inclusive Leaders LIVE!

Inclusive Leaders are companies who have top-notch diversity and inclusion initiatives.

They traditionally had been showcased at the bi-annual Poole College Career and Internship Fair at the Inclusive Leader Breakfast.

The Inclusive Leader LIVE! schedule is for a company to have a 45-time slot with the student leaders of Poole College affinity groups to answer the key questions of what makes diversity thrive in their organization.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is each company allowed one session?

Yes, until each Inclusive Leader has an opportunity to get a session. We can consider special topic LIVE events later in the fall semester.

What is the recommended max number of employee participants in the session?

For logistics, we suggest 1 or 2 maximum employees to be live with the D&I host. They should be very knowledgable to speak about specific diversity and inclusion initiatives. Students will ask tough questions! Preparation for company team members for the live time will be managed by the Diversity and Inclusion team ahead of the event. Other employees can “watch” and add to the experience of the event via the chat feature.

Day of the Event

Poole Diversity uses their Instagram account along with the IG TV feature to be “live” with companies for these virtual events. Follow @Poole_Diversity on Instagram from either a personal account or, get access to your organization’s Instagram account for the use on this occasion.

At the designated date and time, the “host” for the episode will bring your team members into the Live broadcast in the same way users would be on a zoom meeting or webex- its just on Instagram!

The team member of Poole D&I will act as “host” by starting a brief introduction of the company, reading the submitted statement and proceed to ask questions about inclusive practices.

Audience members will be able to use the “message” feature to ask questions after the first round of agreed-upon questions.

Do companies get a choice in the date and student affinity group for the session(s) the company participates in?

Yes, and No. See the schedule below for available dates. LIVE times will air at 4pm EST.

Poole_Diveristy has approximately 500 followers all from the various affinity groups in Poole along with many alumni of the same affinity groups. While we cannot predict or control what portion of the audience will participate when live, we will permanently keep the recording of the event on the Instagram account page.

How do we book?

Email poole-diversity@ncsu.edu

While we will not assign a “cost” for participation, a donation to the Poole Endowment for Diversity and Inclusion would be greatly appreciated so that support of the student affinity groups can continue during these times of financial constraint.

Our approach, which is focused on our People, our Business and our Communities, starts inside our company. We’re committed to being more proactive at all levels so that our workforce reflects the communities we serve, and our GSK leadership reflects our GSK workforce.
