France – International Marketing
Due to continued safety concerns related to COVID-19, in-country summer programs will not run during Summer 2021. The Poole College of Management is excited to offer the Global Summer Institute, an alternative 4-week, internationally-focused program.
Poole Global Programs is pleased to announce a new Maymester program designed for marketing concentration students in the Poole College of Management. Spend three weeks in May learning how business differs within the European context while gaining deeper knowledge of international finance. These topics are demonstrated in “real life,” with visits to corporations and lectures from local business men and women.

BUS 464 | International Marketing
Explores moving from a national marketing approach to a global marketing strategy, and discusses competitive advantages and challenges in making the transition. Both traditional countries of Western Europe and emerging markets will be examined. Students will analyze culture considerations when evaluating the impact on local business strategies. In addition to learning the impact on the world’s economy through globalization, emphasis will also be placed on developing necessary professional skills.
M 380 | Doing Business in France
This experiential course combines in-class learning with out-of-classroom experiences to learn how business is done in the France from multiple perspectives. *The M 380 course fulfills 3 credits of the interdisciplinary degree requirements for all NC State students. In addition, it counts as an elective for the business administration minor.
BUS 360: Marketing Methods
Pre-requisites must be successfully completed before the start of the program. Students are able to apply to the program before they are enrolled in or while they are enrolled in the pre-requisite course. Acceptance to the program is conditional on the student enrolling in the pre-requisite and then successfully completing the course before the start of the program.
If a student fails the pre-requisite course and is not able to repeat the course before the start of the program, he or she will be required to withdraw from the program and the refund/withdrawal policy will come into effect. Exceptions to the refund/withdrawal policy will not be made due to a student’s failure to pass the pre-requisite course.
- All courses are NC State courses and the grade earned in the course will count toward NC State GPA.
- Review your degree audit to determine how courses will count for your major. This program is designed for Poole majors, specifically those concentration in marketing. As such, this program is primarily for rising juniors and seniors.
Calendars & Excursions
Local excursions around Reims and in other cities will examine both the culture and business aspects of France.
