What made you choose NC State?
They had both the College of Engineering and Poole College of Management. I was unsure of which path I wanted to take, so I came to NC State learning more about both. Also, being near RTP there are ample job opportunities.
What was your major before applying to Change Majors (CODA) to Poole?
Industrial and Systems Engineering
What drew you to the Poole College of Management and a career in Business Administration?
I took EC 201 my first semester and really enjoyed it. After my first year I looked into the Business Administration major Concentrating in IT and decided it was a better fit for me and what I wanted to do. After taking the Intro to Finance course, I decided my concentration should be finance.
What were you most looking forward to when you joined Poole College?
My classes! The courses I had signed up for were much more intriguing to me than the courses I took previously. College suddenly felt very applicable and that I would be learning the skills necessary for my career.
What advice would you give a student looking to change majors (CODA) to Poole College?
Don’t be afraid to switch your major. It can be intimidating and scary to switch paths, but Poole is very accommodating and has many resources to help you adjust and pick up where you need to be.
Have you had professional or internship experiences while being a student in Poole College?
I have interned at Fidelity Investments for 2 summers- my first summer as a Systems Engineer and my second summer as a Systems Analyst
Are you a member of any professional clubs, committees, or organizations?
I am involved in Greek Life, University Ambassadors, and Poole Ambassadors
What leadership positions have you held?
I am the Secretary for my sorority. I also coordinate Poole’s weekly Prospective Student Information Sessions with Poole Ambassadors.
When you are not at school, what do you enjoy doing for fun?
I enjoy traveling and learning about different places. I also love to go to the beach to relax.
What do you consider your greatest accomplishment outside of your academic career?
Getting my internships, it is really rewarding to be able to work on things that you have learned at school and see your worth in a corporate environment.
