The BAHP combines challenging analytics coursework with a practicum course that engages students with local employers working on real-world business analytics projects. Students who successfully complete the program requirements will have a business analytics honors designation on their university transcript.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students will complete the Business Analytics Practicum<\/strong> (BUS 459H), which provides a team of students the opportunity to work on a real business challenge, under the guidance of both a faculty advisor and the corporate sponsor\u2019s leadership team.<\/p>\n\n\n

\n The Business Analytics Honors Program at Poole College of Management was more than just an academic program for me; it was a launchpad that provided me with the essential skills required in the fast-paced world of analytics. The hands-on research experience, coupled with the theoretical knowledge guidance provided by the faculty, was instrumental in preparing me for real-world challenges.<\/em>

It includes a range of approaches and solutions, from looking backward to evaluate what happened in the past to looking forward to scenario planning and predictive modeling.\u201d It has applications across all businesses and industries \u2013 from accounting to supply chain management. This makes it an attractive program for students in all of Poole College\u2019s undergraduate disciplines and degree programs.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n\n\n

CNBC reports that \u201cwith more and more companies using big data, the demand for data analytics specialists \u2026 is nearing a frenzy.\u201d Companies are seeking to hire way more analysts than colleges and universities are currently graduating. That means \u201cthe talent pool is, at best, probably 20 percent of the demand (and) that imbalance is a boon for job seekers,\u201d the CNBC article states. According to McKinsey Global Institute, starting in 2018, there will be a \u201cshortage of 1.5 million managers and analysts who have the ability to understand and make decisions using big data.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
