Please note this course does not fulfill the prerequisite for BUS 320.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Business Courses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Students in the Business Administration minor <\/strong>can take any section of the 300-level courses that count towards the minor &#8211; there are seats reserved for minors in each of the sections. If those seats are full, you can add yourself to the waitlist, provided there is room.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>BUS 458-002H and BUS 459-001H<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Are restricted to students in the Business Analytics Honors Program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>BUS 480: <em>Capstone Security Valuation and Portfolio Management<\/em><\/strong> is a project-based capstone course for students in the finance concentration. This course focuses on practical applications of security selection and modern portfolio theory. Students will use cutting edge industry methods to implement theory into practice. Students will learn technical skills in valuation\/forecasting models, investment decision making process, portfolio management, and performance attribution in this advanced quantitative course.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prerequisite: BUS 420<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>This course will fulfill the MIE 480 requirement for the students in the Finance concentration. If you have already taken MIE 480, it will count as a free elective. Please note it will NOT count as a finance concentration elective.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>BUS 495-001 is a special topics course on Global Business Case Analysis<\/strong>: students interested in this course should email Professor Pieter Verhallen at <a href=\"mailto:pfverhal@ncsu.edu\">pfverhal@ncsu.edu<\/a> if interested.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MIE Courses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>MIE 209: Survey of Entrepreneurship and MIE 309: Entrepreneurship Skills<\/strong> are designed for non business majors and the new Business Entrepreneurship Minor to develop valuable skills in creative thinking, value creation and innovation application to any career.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>MIE 209- typically fulfills a Social Sciences General Education Program (GEP) requirement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MIE 309- typically fulfills an Interdisciplinary Prospective General Education Program (GEP) requirement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>MIE 310: Introduction to Entrepreneurship<\/strong> is designed for Poole College majors and Business Administration minors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Other credit options<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>M 120<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 <em><strong>Professional Development and Career Planning<\/strong><\/em> (1 credit) is a great course for sophomores or juniors or new entrants to Poole who want to engage in career exploration and develop tools necessary to start their career. This course is restricted to only students currently in a Poole major.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Students that didn&#8217;t take M 100 in their first year are encouraged to take M 120 instead to fulfill that requirement. Students that already have credit for M 100, can take M 120 as a free elective.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>BUS 225<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 <em><strong>Personal Finance<\/strong><\/em> is an essential course for any student who wants to learn about economic and financial strategies for post-college life. It will count as a free elective for any major.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Practicum Courses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Practicum courses are project-based, experiential learning opportunities that provide a structured environment for students to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting. Practicum courses help students gain valuable hands-on experience, develop transferable skills and build professional networks to ultimately enhance their career development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Offered in a variety of 400- level courses for students pursuing an undergraduate major or minor within Poole College. The classes included are ACC 452, BUS 463, BUS 479, and MIE 418\/419.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Application opens on March 2nd. The priority deadline is March 23rd.
