Teacher’s Corner
World Language teachers play a vital role in helping NC State and the Poole College of Management offer the International Business Dual Degree (IBDD) Program. Without the language education you provide in high school throughout North Carolina and the entire United States, we would not be able to have students pursue this in-depth international program and become fluent in a second language.
Learning a second language is the foundation of the IBDD Program and your teaching makes this program possible.
Videos Series on Higher Education
To show our appreciation and to help us spread the word about IBDD, we have created a series of videos that compare the higher education system in the United States to the higher education systems in our four target countries / languages: France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. Each video is about seven minutes long and can be downloaded and used as a teaching tool. We have also developed a teaching guide for each of the five videos that includes activities and worksheets you can use to connect your students’ learning with these videos.
France | Watch Video | Teaching Guide |
Germany | Watch Video | Teaching Guide |
Italy | Watch Video | Teaching Guide |
Spain | Watch Video | Teaching Guide |
Each video ends with a short promotion of IBDD. We kindly ask that you show the video until the very end and encourage students to reach out to us if they are interested or have any questions.
Let us know how you use these videos. Send us an email at poole_global@ncsu.edu or post on Instagram and tag us at @ncstate_ibdd. We would love to hear from you and see the creative ways you use these videos!
Virtual Classroom Visits
One of the best ways to recruit students to IBDD is to go into world language classrooms and do a presentation on the IBDD Program. We are now pleased to offer virtual visits to your classroom where we can zoom in and share information on the program. When scheduling a virtual visit we try to include a current student who started at NC State and/or an international student from one of our partner schools. Virtual sessions can run from 10-45 minutes depending on your availability. To schedule a virtual classroom visit, please find an availability below or email us at ibdd_program@ncsu.edu.
