Poole College Senior Zach Milburn has a Global View on Life
Zach Milburn, a senior in the NC State University Poole College of Management, has a lot going on. He is an entrepreneur, website creator, business student, world-traveler, English teacher, music lover, and the founder of the International Business Club at NC State.
Milburn has been to or lived in 21 countries – evidence of his love of travel and different cultures. "If you can find someone who loves culture more than I do, please introduce us," Milburn said, adding that he's "always up for meeting new people."
He studied for a semester at the Reims Management School in France and in September 2012 founded Poole College's International Business Club.
Within a month of founding the club, it had 60 official members, 10 executive positions, a social committee, an ambassadors committee, and a mentorship program. That translates into many opportunities for club members to be actively involved, a goal that he had for the club from the start. Membership in the club is open to all students at NC State and Skema, the global French business school that has its U.S. campus on NC State's Centennial Campus.
Milburn also is active in entrepreneurship, the minor he is completing along with his bachelor's degree in business administration. In the past year he co-founded the Wolf Exchange, a web based company that provides classified ads for universities. The company was self-funded and has now expanded to serve The University of North Carolina, East Carolina University, The University of Utah, and The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
In his free time, Milburn likes to travel, visit his friends in other countries, and continue to strive for excellence in both his personal and academic life. He said he plans to continue to travel and one day work with sustainable development in impoverished areas. "I feel like I learn so much when I'm abroad, that I'm kinda addicted to it," said when asked where he sees himself in the future.
