Coley O’Shaughnessey Named Accounting Advisory Council Chair

O’Shaughnessey has been in his current role at Bank of America since 2008, and was corporate audit director and senior manager at Bank of America from 2004 to 2008. Previously, he was audit senior manager for Ernst & Young, LLP, in Birmingham, Alabama, and Raleigh, N.C., from 1993 to 2003. He received his bachelor’s degree from NC State in 1993, and is Six Sigma green belt certified and a certified anti-money laundering specialist.

The NC State College of Management’s Department of Accounting faculty teaches students in the college’s Bachelor of Accounting and Master of Accounting programs. The college’s Enterprise Risk Management Initiative is also based in the accounting department.

“We very much appreciate Coley’s dedicated service to the college and the Department of Accounting,” said Dr. Frank Buckless, accounting department head. “He and the other board members have a very important role in assuring that our academic programs provide the knowledge and professional development experiences that our students need for careers in today’s accounting profession.”
