Freudenberg IT (FIT): Funding membership in the SAP University Alliance

Since 2009, Freudenberg IT (FIT) has provided support for Poole College – and NC State a whole – to be part of the SAP University Alliance.

SAP is an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system that companies use to run manufacturing, logistics, accounting, and all other aspects of business. The University Alliance Program allows faculty at NC State University to use the software in their classroom teaching, providing students hands-on experience with a live SAP system. The program will also give the faculty members access to SAP training and curriculum already developed by other SAP alliance schools in the nation.

The college has provided hundreds of students the opportunity to gain this valuable skills set. Poole College joined the SAP University Alliance following an introduction made by the Eric Patow, an NC State alumn with a bachelor’s degree in engineering and master’s in management (precursor to the Jenkins MBA program at Poole College. At the time, Patow, who died in 2013, was senior vice president of sales and business development at for the Americas for Freudenberg IT.
