Poole College Shack-a-Thon Team Raises Over $5,400

Just over $5,400 was raised by student organizations in the NC State Poole College of Management during their combined support of the 2011 NC State Habitat for Humanity Shack-a-Thon fundraiser. The annual fundraiser, which ended on September 30, supports the Habitat for Humanity of Wake County. Poole College’s collections this year is more than $1,000 over the $4,533.29 that the students raised in 2010.

More than half of the donations were received on location at the college’s ‘shack’ on the Brickyard and at sales stations in Nelson Hall; online donations brought in about $2,000.

“We all are very pleased not only with the response of donors but also with the involvement of students in the college,” said Chris Casey, event team leader for Poole College Ambassadors. “Congratulations to all who participated in this year’s Shack-a-Thon.”
