Jenkins MBA team to compete in Startup Madness this Wednesday

NC State University’s two teams for this Wednesday's Startup Madness were announced by Lewis Sheats, Poole College instructor who is assisting the event''s coordinator, Scott Kelly.

Representing NC State at the graduate level is the team PlasmaGro, a company that focuses on sustainable, onsite and on-demand production of nitrogen fertilizer for use in commercial agriculture. Team members are in the entrepreneuership and technology commercialization concentration in the NC State Poole College of Management’s Jenkins MBA program. The team members are: Kellet Atkinson, Wahyudi Gunawan, Eko Prasetaiwan, and Ramin Shahriari

Mark Delgado, a senior in the College’s of Engineering’s nuclear engineering program, has been selected for the undergraduate category. He describes his entry, Koyr, as intelligent radiation detection systems that also automate labor intensive tasks. 

A total of 14 universities in the Atlantic Collegiate Conference are sending 22 teams to the competition. Teams will attend a welcoming event at Raleigh Hub the evening of March 26, with the bracket-style competition rounds being held throughout the day on Wednesday, March 27. The public is invited to view the team presentations. Semi-finals will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The final four teams will compete at 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

There is no charge for the semi-final rounds, but tickets are required for the final four competition; there is no charge for student tickets. Ticket reservations and other details are available at the Startup Madness website.

NC State's Poole College of Management is lead sponsor for this event; The Research Triangle Park is the sponsor for the Final Four.
