Online voting begins for Good Wolf Counting – Poole College’s AICPA competition team

Voting has begun for the 15 teams of accounting students from across the country competing for first place in the 2014 AICPA Accounting Competition – including the Good Wolf Counting team that represents the NC State Poole College of Management.

The public is invited to view the teams’ video entries on the competition website. Voting continues through 11:59 a.m. on November 12. At stake is a chance to win the $10K prize for the team, funds for the team's college, and a trip to the national conference at which the four award winners will be recognized.

Poole College’s team members are Gina Miani, team captain; Christopher Befus, Stephanie Evans and Nalisha Patel, all accounting majors. Theirs is one of 14 teams across the country in this final round. The public is invited to view the 14 entries and vote for their favorite team.

In selecting the winning teams, AICPA accounting experts will consider the merits of all submissions and take into account votes cast by the general public – including team members’ friends and neighbors. The top teams will have one month to prepare their final presentation and face the judges in Washington, D.C. on December 19 with their in-person 10-minute presentations.

The competition, open to current undergraduate students in the U.S. and its territories who are current AICPA Student Affiliate members, is supported by the AICPA Foundation. Each of the three finalists teams receives a $10,000 award to be split among the team’s members. The three finalists will then compete to win money for their schools.

The AICPA is a national organization that promotes advocacy, community, development and guidance for the continued professional growth of certified public accountants. College students are eligible for student membership.
