Economics Professors Help Wake County Public School System
Economics professors Bob Hammond, Umut Dur, and Thayer Morrill are helping the Wake County Public School System simplify the magnet school selection process for parents. The partnership officially began in February 2014.
The economic knowledge and insights of Hammond, Dur, and Morrill helped adapt a headache-inducing process into one which parents can navigate with ease. By adjusting the algorithm used, parents no longer have to try and “game” the system. Instead, parents can focus on finding the best fit for their children.
