Governor Cooper Appoints Poole College’s Bobby Puryear to the North Carolina Financial Literacy Council

Bobby Puryear, a teaching professor of economics within NC State’s Poole College of Management, was recently reappointed as the UNC System representative to the North Carolina Financial Literacy Council for a term spanning 2019-2022. The North Carolina Financial Literacy Council is a state-wide council that is tasked to monitor and assist the Department of Public Instruction in the statewide delivery of financial education; identify programs designed to increase the financial literacy of North Carolinians outside the public school system; and work to expand access to financial education resources and programs in communities across North Carolina.

The council is appointed by the governor. Governor Roy Cooper announced March 13, 2019 appointments to 21 boards and commissions. Puryear was originally appointed to the council by former Governor Pat McCrory for the 2016 to 2019 term.
