Poole College Welcomes New Undergraduate Class for Fall 2024

Get to know some of the newest members of our Poole Pack.

Nelson Hall

On August 19, Poole College of Management welcomed 1,051 students, including more than 516 transfer students, into Nelson Hall for the fall semester. 

“Of the nearly 7,000 applications we received, those who joined us in August represent some of the best and brightest,” says Jaquan Scott, associate director of admissions. “I am continually impressed with the resiliency, drive and dedication of our incoming class each year. I am so excited to see all that these members of the Poole Pack will accomplish.”

Carson Fraley

Carson Fraley

Marketing Concentration

Carson Fraley is a first-year student joining Poole from J.H. Rose High School in Greenville, North Carolina. A recipient of NC State’s prestigious Park Scholarship, Carson says she chose the university because of the community it creates.

“Everyone I have met here, especially in Poole, has been so eager to get to know me, which shows how much they care about this university and the students,” she says.

Carson is looking forward to studying abroad and participating in internships that will allow her to grow her experience and network with diverse groups of people. Carson is also interested in the student organizations Poole offers, hoping to meet people with similar interests.

Daine Nixon

Finance Concentration

Daine Nixon is a first-year student joining Poole from Ardrey Kell High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Daine chose NC State “due to its open campus, its business program and easy transferability and transparency for AP and community college credits.”

Daine hopes to join the South Korea Operations and Information Systems study abroad program. He is a member of the Impact Leadership Village and would like to join more leadership programs and clubs during his time in Poole.

Morgan Thorpe

Morgan Thorpe is a first-year student joining Poole from Frederick High School, located in Frederick, Maryland. Morgan has plans to major in economics and work in corporate law in the future. 

Morgan is interested in joining the Society for Politics, Economics, and Law (SPEL); Mock Trial Club and Black Students Board.

Taylor Blount

Taylor Blount
Business Administration
Business Analytics Concentration

Taylor is a first-year Poole student from San Diego, California, with plans to major in business administration with a concentration in Poole’s newest offering: business analytics. 

“NC State excels in data analytics and works to develop students who are strong in technical skills, which is exactly what I was looking for,” she says.

Taylor is excited to grow in her skills within the business community while also making new friends and finding her new home in North Carolina. She plans to join the Entrepreneurship Garage, Women in Business Club and her campus ministry while at NC State.
