Poole College HR Group Welcomes Phillip Britt

Poole College of Management recently welcomed Phillip Britt to the Office of Business Services as a human resources assistant effective March 7.

Britt joins Poole College with over 10 years of administrative and human resources (HR) experience in both higher education, at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and in municipal government in the town of Southern Pines.

Phillip brings quite a bit of county-level HR experience and has a keen eye for process improvement.

“Phillip brings quite a bit of county-level HR experience and has a keen eye for process improvement,” said Maggie Merry, assistant dean of finance and administration. “We are very excited to have Phillip on the HR team to help us get some processes in place!”

Britt is an NC State alumnus holding a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Master in Public Administration from NC State.

As human resources assistant, Britt will provide guidance for all matters of HR including creating job postings, drafting offer letters, entering additional compensation requests, entering salary distribution changes and coordinating international visa needs. He will also develop and implement standard operating procedures for staff hiring, student hiring and additional compensation, and process all student hiring requests.

Outside of work, Britt enjoys playing golf, traveling, restoring his 1973 Toyota Landcruiser and spending time with family, which includes his wife Samantha, two kids and two dogs.
