Private support has been part of the story of success for the relatively young NC State Poole College of Management.

The NC State Poole College of Management placed among the nation’s top undergraduate business programs in the 2018 “Best Colleges” rankings, published by U.S. News & World Report. US News ranked Poole College No. 91 overall, up three spots from last year. Among public universities, Poole College shared the 14th spot on the list with eight other institutions, including Rutgers University and San Diego State University.

The rise reflects the college’s commitment to preparing career-ready graduates to tackle cutting-edge challenges, said Tamah Morant, associate dean for undergraduate programs at Poole College.

“As a college, we are focused on ensuring that our students graduate with a solid foundation in their discipline, plus the analytical problem-solving capabilities, entrepreneurial mindset and cultural competencies they need to make a difference in today’s data-rich, global economy,” Morant said.

NC State University rose in several categories of the U.S. News ranking: up 11 spots overall to No. 81 among national universities and No. 33 among public universities, up from 38 last year.

NC State also scored higher on the list of schools offering the best value for the money, ranking 46th among national universities this year, a jump of 16 spots over last year. Among public universities, NC State is the fifth best value on the list.  The university also ranked 44th on the list of the best colleges for veterans, moving up 15 spots this year.
