Poole College Student Selected as AMA Triangle Scholarship Recipient
The American Marketing Association (AMA) Triangle chapter announced Kaley Moffitt, junior as winner of the 2016 marketing scholarship competition. The theme of the competition was “Campus Hunger Ambassadors.” Contestants created a marketing plan to engage college students in the Stop Hunger Now movement.
Moffitt received $1500 along with an invitation to the March 2017 AMA Triangle chapter meeting, where she will also be recognized. Moffit said that she will apply the scholarship toward her study abroad trip this summer to Argentina, where she will take two marketing classes at Universidad de San Andres.
The Campus Hunger Ambassadors proposal took Moffitt about 15 hours to complete and she credits her success to Tom Byrnes, marketing professor in Poole College’s Department of Business Management.
“I am very grateful for my AMA advisor, Professor Byrnes, for teaching me everything I know and being so supportive throughout this scholarship process and my entire academic career,” Moffitt said.
Between now and her anticipated May 2018 graduation, Moffit said she plans to continue pursuing her passion for marketing as president of the NC State AMA chapter.
