Why did you choose the NC State Jenkins MBA program for your graduate education? I choose the Jenkins MBA program for my graduate program because NC State is was one of the few local MBA programs that have a finance management concentration, and I didn’t have to work for four years post-grad before I got my MBA.
How did your experience in the program contribute to your professional achievements and successes? My experience with the program contributed a lot to my professional success. The Career Management Center really prepared me for my internship interviews and because of that, I was able to secure an internship in October.
What have you enjoyed most about your time in the Jenkins MBA program? I have enjoyed the people within my cohort the most. I know that going forward these people will be some of my closest friends and the most important people in my network.
What advice would you give for prospective and current students who are interested in your industry/profession? My advice for prospective and current students who are interested in finance would be to make sure you really love finance because the industry isn’t easy, but it comes with plenty of benefits. Also, don’t only be the hardest worker in the room but also be the hardest networker in the room because in this industry your network is truly your “net worth”. Lastly, there will come a time when you don’t know something, so don’t be afraid to say you don’t know.
What are your goals and plans for the future? My goal for the future is to do a great job at Bank of America this summer and receive a full-time offer after graduating from the MBA program.
