Professor Mark Beasley Discusses The Risks Executives Face In 2019

Due to disruptive technologies, cyber threats, talent shortages, and evolving geopolitical risks, executives are facing more threats than ever in 2019. In response to the ever-growing list of risks, Protiviti, a global consulting firm, and NC State’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Initiative created a survey for 825 board members and C-suite executives on the risks their companies face in 2019. Leading the ERM Initiative is Poole College’s Professor Mark Beasley who helped facilitate the survey that looks at strategic risks, operational risks, and macroeconomic risks. “Different perspectives shed different insights, which warrants a more robust conversation about what these risk exposures are,” said Beasley when discussing the results of the survey.
