Jacob Diehl Brings Digital Production to Poole Communications Team
Jacob Diehl has joined the NC State Poole College of Management’s marketing and media team as a digital producer, adding compelling digital content to support of the college’s strategic goals. His office is in 2105 Nelson Hall.
In addition to supporting digital communications through the college’s website and social media, he will assist in producing and editing original and existing digital content, including photography, graphic images, web pages, email templates and digital ads. Faculty and staff needing his assistance for communications projects can submit requests through the Communications Project Request form while a new workflow process is being developed.
Diehl previously was a digital media producer at The Friday Institute at NC State and as a videographer for East Carolina University, covering events ranging from athletics to recruiting to chancellor’s visits.
“I got into video production in high school in a mass communications class that I took for three years,” Diehl said. “I got really into music videos, which led me to study communication in college and continue in promotional video production,” he said.
“The digital producer position at Poole interested me because of the outward-facing content. I enjoy creating video for social and marketing purposes, and at Poole I’ll be able to produce materials used for recruitment, lead generation, and marketing many different facets of the college,” he said.
Diehl said that, in his work, he tries “to make every video different and unique, and to avoid cliché or overused visuals. There is so much video content people see every day; you need to make something that will stand out and catch a viewer’s attention, so I try to do that with everything I’m creating, no matter what the content may be.
