Poole College Celebrates Latinx Heritage Month with Annual Barrio Party

Students trying the local Latin food at the annual Barrio Party captured by the Technician.

The Poole College of Management hosted its annual Barrio Party on October 1  in celebration of Latinx Heritage Month which runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. The party was held in the General Scott Courtyard with food trucks from local Latin-owned companies that included Spanglish, Gonza Tacos y Tequila, Alpaca Chicken Catering and Mati Energy. According to attendees, the food was extremely important to the cultural aspect of the party. “It has been so long since I’ve eaten Caribbean bread,” said Mara Cuebas, an NC State graduate student in microbiology. “I am from Puerto Rico, and this is Cuban bread. I think I really needed that.” Read more on the Technician.
