Jenkins MAC Program Scores High in the 2019 Public Accounting Report Ranking

Late day sun cuts across the Memorial Belltower on a Fall afternoon.

The Public Accounting Report recently released its 2019 rankings for graduate and undergraduate accounting programs across the United States. Overall, the Jenkins Master of Accounting Program (MAC) ranked No. 34, continuing its tradition of being ranked as one of the top MAC programs in the country.

Both the MAC and undergraduate programs came in No. 9 in the southern region. In the size category, both programs scored within the top 25 programs in the U.S. with MAC as No. 20 and the undergraduate program as No. 24.

Scott Showalter, director of the Jenkins MAC program and professor of practice in accounting, sees the scores as a result of the program’s focus on real-world application of skills that prepares students for successful careers in the accounting profession.

“We continue to focus on keeping our curriculum up to date to meet the expanding needs of the accounting profession,” said Showalter. “As an example, during the current semester, all our MAC students participated in an intensive two-week data analytics boot camp.”

NC State is currently accepting applications for the MAC program starting in fall 2020. For more information, visit https://poole.ncsu.edu/mac/. The NC State Jenkins MAC program is available in two formats: full-time and professional online.
