With the help of Red Bull, students of the BUS 466 course on personal selling were surprised with energy drinks for their 8:30 a.m. class. David Henard, professor of marketing, partnered with Kevin Cummings of Red Bull to bring a little excitement to the morning.
“One of my undergraduate students is a campus representative for Red Bull and, a few weeks ago, she brought Redbull samples for our class,” said Henard. “That started a discussion between us about creative ways that we could interact with students.”
Cummings came up with the idea to hide the Red Bull cans underneath the student desks using velcro to be discovered with a note at the beginning of class.
“We are coming into the holiday and exam season, so I thought this would be a great way to shake things up and get students talking about the course,” said Henard.
