Mark Beasley Discusses Impact of Coronavirus on Enterprise Risk Management
Mark Beasley, professor of accounting and director of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Initiative at Poole College of Management, was featured on the American Institute of CPAs podcast on Monday, March 2, as he discussed the looming effects of the coronavirus on companies across the globe. From a financial perspective, Beasley said the assumed implications of the virus will continue to impact sales and the ability to get supplies.
“The experience that we are in right now, to me, is a great example of why we really need to begin to think about an enterprise-risk approach to how we think about risk management,” said Beasley. “The coronavirus is a great example of a single-root cause having multiple triggering effects to all aspects of the enterprise.” Listen to the podcast.
