Jessica Moran Permanently Joins the Jenkins MAC Program as Assistant Director of Academic Programs

After two years of serving as the online program coordinator, Jessica Moran has been named the inaugural assistant director of academic programs for the Jenkins MAC Program. Moran has transitioned to this newly created position from a temporary position to a permanent employee as of Sept. 13.

As the online program coordinator for the last two years, Moran was tasked with transitioning the formerly known as Accelerated Summer Accounting Program (ASAP) to an online asynchronous format. Taking the format online has resulted in exponential growth due to the flexibility the program provides. She also established a set of online course standards and then worked with faculty to apply them to their online courses. Moran first served as an online section manager for the Jenkins MBA Program when she joined Poole College in 2016.

“Jessica brings many talents, beyond her knowledge of online learning, to this new role,” said Scott Showalter, director of the Jenkins MAC Program. “Her efforts will help the MAC Program stay ahead of market trends.”

“My favorite memory was when a student confided to me that without the ASAP Program they would not have been able to get a Masters in Accounting,” said Moran.

In her new role, Moran will be developing, maintaining and administering the ASAP Program as well as serving as an ambassador to the instructional design group and the University at large for the Jenkins MAC Program. She will also lead the MAC diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts.

“I am looking forward to expanding the ASAP program, continuing to work with the Instructional Design Group to develop the Online MAC Program,” said Moran. “I look forward to working with the MAC to provide a top-notch experience for our students.”

Moran is a Poole College alumna with a Bachelor of Science in accounting she received in 2002 and a Master of Science in accounting in 2003.  Moran is also a licensed North Carolina Certified Public Accountant.

Outside of Nelson Hall, Moran can be found spending time planning her family’s next Disney vacation, attending Wolfpack sporting events and playing with her boxer-pitbull rescue, Bandit.
