Poole’s Office of Business Services Welcomes Blake Woolard to the IT Team

Poole College’s Office of Business Program was joined by Blake Woolard as an information technology (IT) analyst and programmer.

Woolard began his career in the United States Marine Corps on active duty from 2010 to 2014 as an air support operations operator. Since leaving active duty, he worked in various support IT roles for Xerox, Siemens and Microsoft. Most recently, he served as an IT analyst for Duke University’s biology and evolutionary anthropology departments.

Blake brings us a fresh new perspective on service and security.

“Blake brings us a fresh new perspective on service and security,” said Maggie Merry, associate dean of finance and administration. “I’m excited to see what enhancements he brings to make sure we are digitally protected!”

In his new role, Woolard will be focused on maintaining, updating and enhancing Poole’s online management options. He will also be concentrating on researching and advocating for various security improvements that would enhance online defensive measures.

“I have been wanting to work more with endpoint management solutions and be more involved with information security, so this [Poole] was the absolute perfect fit,” said Woolard.

Woolard holds a Bachelor of Science in IT and a Master of Science in cybersecurity from Southern New Hampshire University.

Outside of work and keeping up with technology, Woolard enjoys following mixed martial arts and all things Chicago sports as well as hanging out with his wife and family.
