Justin Goldberg Joins Poole College As New Content Development Specialist

Justin Goldberg has recently joined the Poole College of Management as a content development specialist with the Marketing and Communications Office. Goldberg will be replacing Anna Rzewnicki, who is retiring from the college on Nov. 1.

Goldberg’s diverse background in marketing, communications and journalism has prepared him for this role. He began his professional career as an adjunct professor of English and writing at Mercy College and the College of Mount Saint Vincent in the New York metropolitan area.

Goldberg entered journalism in 2012 as a features reporter for C-VILLE Weekly in Charlottesville, Virginia. He has also worked as a sports reporter and columnist for D3sports.com and as a critic, copy editor and section editor for The Roanoke Times. Most recently, he has served as a communications specialist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Gillings School of Global Public Health and as a marketing associate at the NC State University Division of Continuing and Professional Education.

As a content development specialist, Goldberg will be primarily responsible for developing original, editorial content for Poole News. He will also help develop key newsletters for the college, including weekly Poole Connections and monthly Alumni & Friends Connections.

“The position intrigued me because of Poole’s reputation for being a hub of innovative academics and stakeholder partnerships and how focused the Marketing and Communications Office was on developing creative content in a collaborative manner,” said Goldberg.

Goldberg received a bachelor’s degree in English from Whittier College in Whittier, California. He also has a master’s degree in creative writing from Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia.

In his spare time, Goldberg likes to be outside as much as someone with New York blood can in central North Carolina, as well as find good restaurants, read his ever-growing collection of books, play and watch basketball and fulfill his bucket list of bands to see.

“We are excited to have Justin join the marketing and communications team,” said Jenny Hammond, interim director of marketing and communications. “His focus will be to work across all units in the college to create content that is centered around the impact stories that support the strategic goals. Justin has a strong background in journalism that will lend itself to the research necessary to tell the stories of the many faces of Poole College.”
