Rokeya Begum has recently joined the Poole College of Management’s Office of Business Services (OBS) as the accounting specialist. She will be replacing Tina Riley and Lisette Polyak in this role.
Begum has previously served as an accounting technician at NC State where she processed financial transactions and monitored workflow, as well as resolved issues for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. She also worked at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as an accounting technician reconciling vendor statements and large volume invoice reviews.
As the accounting specialist for OBS, Begum will be responsible for PCard reconciliation, personal reimbursements, journal vouchers, interdepartmental transfers and travel reimbursement. She will also be researching and resolving any discrepancies in financial records, and helping with SOP to create content.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and cooking but says baking is her true passion. She received her bachelor of science in accounting from Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York, in December 2010.
