Poole College Welcomes Jonathan Hennessy to the Office of Business Services Team

NC State Poole College of Management recently welcomed Jonathan Hennessy to the Office of Business Services team as an operations manager effective September 1.

Prior to Poole College, Hennessy worked in collegiate recreation for eight years beginning as a facility supervisor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham during his undergraduate career. As a graduate student, he then served in facilities and special events for recreation and wellness at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Hennessy has previous NC State experience as facility operations coordinator for Wellness and Recreation for three years.

“I am very excited about adding Jonathan to our college,” said Josh Agner, director of business services. “I know that he will lead the operations team and make it very successful.”

I’m looking forward to working alongside him and creating a new, innovative team and helping serve the college to the best of our ability.

As operations manager, Hennessy is responsible for providing and overseeing front-line customer service and support to the Dean, directors, administrators, faculty and staff within the college. He will supervise the transition of executive assistants to operation assistants and give guidance as the new team provides concierge services to the college by being a one-stop-shop for the college’s needs.

Hennessy received a Bachelor of Science in business management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2015 as well as a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2017.

“Poole College has an exceptional reputation on campus,” said Hennessy. “That fact, along with the opportunities associated with this new role and the formation of the operations team made it an easy decision to join the college.”

Outside of work, Hennessy enjoys being active by playing basketball, soccer and football as well as going on runs and hikes. He and his wife also enjoy traveling internationally and are open to recommendations for new places to visit.
