NC State Entrepreneurship Clinic Welcomes Josh Guter as Program Manager

The NC State Entrepreneurship Clinic and Poole College of Management announced Josh Guter as program manager effective May 16.

Prior to joining the Entrepreneurship Clinic, Guter worked for a startup called Unbiased Insights where he taught entrepreneurs better opportunity validation methods using customer discovery. He also took on multiple freelance projects ranging from photography to graphic design.

“Josh Guter brings a tremendous amount of experience from his time at NC State and in growing and building ventures, and an enthusiasm that will undoubtedly help us move the Entrepreneurship Clinic into the next exciting chapter of work with the university community,” said Haley Huie, director of the Entrepreneurship Clinic. “Josh’s tenacity and skill are evident in his work with our summer ventures in the Andrews Launch Accelerator, and we can’t wait to have him meet all of our students, colleagues and partners in his work in the fall!”

As the program manager, Guter will be responsible for maintaining and growing the Entrepreneurship Clinic as well as managing the programming that includes classes offered and the Andrews Launch Accelerator. He will be connecting with companies in the Raleigh area and building relationships with founders, mentors and investors all with the intention of making those connections accessible to the students in the clinic.

“Throughout my time at NC State, I was heavily involved in NC State’s entrepreneurship program,” said Guter. “I got to serve as an ambassador, do work in the Entrepreneurship Garage, go to the mentor meet-ups they offered and more. These opportunities shaped me as an individual and taught me lessons that I apply on the daily.”

“The Entrepreneurship Clinic was heavily involved in creating some of those programs with the goal of getting students experience in real entrepreneurship, so when the opportunity to join the clinic in this mission came up, I knew I had to get involved as a means of giving back and sharing opportunities with others.”

Guter graduated from NC State as a Goodnight scholar and with a Bachelor of Science in graphic communications in 2021. During his academic career, he launched a startup called Never Far Away where he focused on improving safety for outdoor hikers in state and national parks.

Outside of the office, Guter’s ideal day would take place on the coast starting with a cup of coffee over a game of chess followed up by skimboarding or surfing at the beach.
