Don Warsing Named Faculty Director of Jenkins MBA Program
An operations and supply chain management expert, Warsing is the first dedicated faculty director for the Jenkins MBA program in the Poole College of Management.
NC State Poole College of Management has named Don Warsing as the new faculty director for the Jenkins MBA program. Warsing will be the first dedicated faculty director for the program, which has been previously overseen by Steve Allen in his role as associate dean for graduate programs and research (2003-2020) and Vikas Anand in his current position as associate dean for academic programs.
Warsing joined the faculty at Poole College in 2003 as an assistant professor and currently serves as associate professor of operations and supply chain management. He also graduated from Poole’s Master of Science in Management (MSM) program in 1995, the precursor to what is now the Jenkins MBA program.
Warsing will report to Anand and focus on guiding the MBA program, including providing oversight on its curriculum, recruitment, marketing and overall strategic direction — as well as serving as the face of the program to the community.
“I am delighted that Don will be the faculty director of MBA programs,” Anand says. “He has significant experience working with MBA students and serving multiple stakeholders. This will be especially useful as we implement new formats and build new innovations in the curriculum. I am excited to see how he will build on the already strong foundation of the Jenkins MBA programs.”
In his new role, Warsing hopes to strengthen faculty governance, curriculum management, partnerships with industry and academic partners and the program’s brand, as well as build and foster community among students.
“The Jenkins MBA program has a solid history of doing many of these things, but I’m looking forward to building on that history,” Warsing says. “I’m really excited to have the opportunity to build on the strong base that was developed and nurtured for the program over nearly three decades, from the early days of the MSM program.”
Warsing has previously served as co-director of the Master of Supply Chain Engineering and Management program at NC State (2013-2016), and currently serves as the graduate program director for Poole’s operations and supply chain management certificate (2020-present).
A few of Warsing’s notable accolades include being a recipient of the College of Management Teaching Excellence award (2008-09) and the College of Management Research Growth and Innovation Award (2010), and being inducted into the NC State University Academy of Outstanding Teachers (2010). He has also served on the MBA Curriculum Committee, as the elected representative of the College on the University’s Administrative Board of the Graduate School (2016-2018), and as the Area Coordinator for the Operations & Supply Chain Management group in the Business Management Department since 2018.
In addition to his MSM degree, Warsing holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from Ohio State University and a Ph.D. in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
