Q: What is your favorite thing about the Alexander Hamilton Scholars program?

A: It gave me the ability to pursue further leadership opportunities, as well as practically forced me to study abroad, which I might not have done if it was not required. That being said, I am very glad I did.

Q: What has been your favorite Alexander Hamilton Scholars event? Why?

A: We have international alumni panels in which alumni tell us about how their AHS degree has contributed to their success in the professional world. I get a lot out of this, and it helps me understand what directions I can go with, with my degree.

Q: How has being a part of Alexander Hamilton Scholars prepared you for your future career?

A: It has given me leadership opportunities, taught me how to manage other groups of people, as well as given me insight into how to work with people that have varying backgrounds and cultures.

Q: What experiences, skills, etc., has being a part of the program given you that you would not have had as a normal business/international studies student?

A: Communication with foreign peoples, leadership skills, organization skills, creative skills

Q: What advice do you have for future Alexander Hamilton Scholars students?

A: Get involved within the program because the more members put in, the better the program becomes. Study abroad as much as you can as it is an experience that is almost surreal and hard to replicate because you do it with new friends, in a large group setting that you most likely will not experience ever again. Study abroad somewhere unique. Anyone can study abroad in Paris, only you will study abroad in Dublin, Valencia, Nairobi, or Jerusalem.

Q: What was your favorite thing about studying abroad?

A: Learning about the new culture and way of life abroad.

Q: Did you explore any other locations while you were studying abroad? If so, where were they?

A: While exploring our own city where we studied abroad, myself as well as some of the other guys on the trip did a weekend trip to Ireland where we explored Dublin, Galway, as well as the rural parts of Ireland. We explored the Guinness Storehouse, the Cliffs of Moher, and went pub hopping.

Q: Were you surprised by anything during your time abroad?

A: If you put in an effort with the French language, the people are extremely receptive. The transportation systems are much, much better than in the United States, to the point where people do not feel the need to actually own a car.

Q: What did studying abroad teach you about yourself?

A: It taught me that not everyone will be as comfortable as myself in foreign areas, like when you are abroad or working with new team members. It is up to the individual to take charge and be a leader and move the group in the best direction for all.
