NC State Poole College of Management has named Jon Carr as the next Management, Innovation & Entrepreneurship (MIE) department head effective July 1.
“Dr. Carr has a passion for the success of our students, faculty and staff, I look forward to working with him as we continue to innovate our processes and programs to create even better opportunities for our students, faculty and staff,” said Frank Buckless, Stephen P. Zelnak Jr. Dean of Poole College.
As MIE department head, Carr will provide intellectual and organization leadership and effective management to academic, research and extension programs. He will serve as an academic leader and administrative officer in implementing outreach activities to remain responsive to the evolving needs of students and stakeholders.
Carr’s research focuses three management domains of entrepreneurship, family business and organizational behavior. His work has been published in many field journals including the Academy of Management Journal, the Journal of Applied Psychology and the Journal of Management.
Carr received both his Master of Business Administration in 1990 and his Ph.D. in 2001 from Mississippi State University.
