Poole College of Management Celebrates September Faculty and Staff Achievements
The monthly accomplishments series celebrates the achievements of our faculty and staff in and outside of the Poole College of Management.
- Jeffrey Pollack, associate professor of entrepreneurship, and student Grayson Morrow received an honorable mention in the 2020 NC State Research Image Contest.
- A Quality Matters master reviewer certified Eileen Taylor’s, professor of accounting, MBA 590-615 course on ethical thinking for managers.
- Rob Handfield, professor of operations and supply chain management, received a one-year $600,000 grant to develop a computational model that can be used to identify the best allocation plans for distributing test kits. He also served as a panelist at the World Commerce and Contracting Vibe Summit from September 21 to 23 where he presented “COVID-19 and Supply Chains: What are We Learning?”
- Joseph Brazel was awarded the Best Paper Award for Behavioral Research in Accounting for his work, “The Outcome Effect and Professional Skepticism: A Replication and a Failed Attempt at Mitigation”.
- During the weekend of September 18, Michael Stanko, associate professor of marketing, virtually presented at the Product Development & Management Association’s Research Forum with his co-editor Aric Rindfleisch of the University of Illinois, as they discussed their upcoming special issue in the Journal of Product Innovation Management: “The Impact of Digital Manufacturing on Innovation Management”.
- Ayo Agunbiade, senior academic advisor for undergraduate programs, was named chair for the University Advising Assessment Committee with the Division of Academic and Student Affairs.
- Stacy Wood, professor of marketing, presented her research on patient-centered healthcare technology to the Amazon Alexa division on September 21.
- Fay Cobb Payton, professor of information technology and business analytics, received the 2020 National Science Foundation Director Award. She also presented her research at the Grace Hopper Conference, Penn State University’s Smart Research Initiative and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
- Noel Greis, research professor of operations and supply chain management, is part of a multi-university team of thought leaders that received $500,000 from the National Science Foundation’s Future Manufacturing program to establish a roadmap for fundamental research and education that will enhance U.S. leadership in manufacturing.
