WalletHub tapped Poole professor Bonnie Hancock to explain the terms of the market’s best credit cards.

“The first thing to consider is how you plan to use the card, and what your spending patterns are,” she said. “One thing that is key is maximizing the rewards you can earn from the purchases you make on the credit card. For example, If you mostly use your card to pay for gas and groceries, and pay off the card every month, look for a card that offers extra points for gas and groceries. If you travel a good deal and are trying to earn status with an airline or a hotel, then you should consider a card that is affiliated with that airline or hotel.”
