One year after Raleigh-based First Citzens Bank’s purchase of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), The Durham Herald-Sun recently turned to a Poole College finance professor for perspective on the transaction’s impact.
“There were just so many reasons why this could go wrong, and it didn’t,” said Richard Warr, a finance professor and associate dean for faculty and research.. “Now, SVB is in a good position. They have the know-how of the industry and have a really strong bank backing it.”
