Rob Handfield Assures Shoppers Grocery Supply Chains Are Strong
Amid the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, grocery stores are struggling to stock shelves as shoppers continue to buy groceries in mass quantities. Rob Handfield, executive director of the Supply Chain Resource Cooperative and Bank of America University distinguished professor of operations and supply chain management, stated that the grocery supply chain is solid and that there is no need for mass shopping. “You can go back to the store because they will replenish the store on a daily basis,” said Handfield. “They have products in the warehouse for all of these goods and they are not going to run out any time soon.” Watch the full video on WRAL.
