Steve Allen Discusses the Impact of Potential CATS Bus Driver Strike
Steve Allen, professor of economics, explains that with a potential strike of the CATS bus drivers, management is obligated to discuss wages and benefits with organized workers. However, there could be consequences to the impending strike.
“If the union were to go out on strike, without going through the process, it would be called a wildcat strike — the management could get an injunction forcing them to go back to work,” said Allen. “So, it would be a big mistake on the part of the union, to just say, ‘Hey, we’re out of here.'”
