Target Price Cut Eases the Pinch on Consumers

On May 20, Target joined several other major retailers in announcing price drops on thousands of everyday items. That move, economics professor Steven Allen told WRAL-TV, may be a response to long-building consumer frustration.

“You may now be seeing some executives going, ‘Maybe we pushed the envelope too far on price increases and now we need to cut back,’” Allen said.
